Common cases

The injuries we see most.

Not every case is chiropractic. We evaluate honestly, treat what responds to adjustment and soft-tissue work, and refer out when imaging, injection, or surgery is the right next step.

Lifting back strain

Acute lumbar strain after a lift gone wrong. Muscle spasm, restricted motion, sharp pain on forward bend.

Repetitive strain

Neck and upper-back pain from overhead work, keyboard use, or assembly-line motion. Often a slow build over months.

Disc injuries

Lumbar or cervical disc herniation with radiating leg or arm symptoms. Evaluated on exam; MRI referred where findings warrant.

Slip-and-fall

Sacroiliac injury, coccyx injury, and compensatory low-back pain after a slip on ice, wet floor, or uneven surface.

Post-surgical rehab

Rehabilitation after cervical or lumbar surgery, with clearance from the operating surgeon. Low-force techniques only.

Commercial driver crashes

DOT-eligible post-collision care for commercial drivers. Return-to-work documentation coordinated with your employer's DOT medical examiner.

PA workers comp: the 90-day rule

In Pennsylvania, if your employer has properly posted a list of panel providers, you must choose from that list for the first 90 days after your injury. After that, you may see any qualified provider. If your employer has not posted a compliant panel, you may choose from the start. We handle the verification.

FAQ

Workers comp questions.

Does workers compensation cover chiropractic care in Pennsylvania?

Yes. Pennsylvania workers compensation covers chiropractic treatment for work-related injuries. During the first ninety days after an injury, you must see a provider on your employer's posted panel if one exists; after ninety days you may choose your own provider. Our office is experienced with workers comp billing and documentation.

What workplace injuries do you treat?

Lifting and back strain, herniated discs, repetitive-use injuries of the neck and shoulder, slip-and-fall injuries, neck and spine injuries from motor vehicle work crashes, and post-surgical rehabilitation cleared by the operating surgeon. If your injury is outside what chiropractic safely treats, we will say so and refer.

Will you report to my employer or adjuster?

Yes. We prepare initial evaluation reports, ongoing progress notes, work-status documentation, and final reports as required by the workers compensation carrier. Dr. Augello communicates with adjusters and nurse case managers directly when authorized.

Can I get back to work while receiving treatment?

Often yes, with modified duty. Dr. Augello documents specific functional limits (lifting restrictions, repetition limits, hours of standing) and updates them at each re-evaluation. Modified-duty letters are provided for your employer.

What if my employer sends me to someone else first?

Under Pennsylvania workers comp rules, you must use a provider from your employer's posted panel for the first ninety days following your injury if the employer has properly posted the list. After ninety days you may see any qualified provider. Call us to discuss your specific situation.
